NetComm has appointed Multimedia Technology as its Victorian distributor.
Although the networking vendor is served by two national distributors, Ingram Micro and Cellnet, it has been without a Victorian representative for two years, managing director, David Stewart, said.
It was previously serviced by BBS in the state until the components distributor was snapped up by Bluechip Infotech.
The company also has state-based distributors in Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth. Ingram and Cellnet manage its distribution business in Sydney and Brisbane, respectively.
Stewart said state-based distributors were important because they provided intimate knowledge of local markets.
Multimedia Technology has committed to carry a range of NetComm products including ADSL, networking and VoIP. It will also conduct marketing programs in association with the vendor and feature in its advertising.
Multimedia boss, John Hassell, said it was delighted to be recognised as a major NetComm distributor after 10 years as a key partner.
