Mystery surrounds the sudden disappearance last week of a small Melbourne distributor, RHP Technology.
Phone lines at the company's North Melbourne office rang out last week when ARN tried to contact the company, while sources claim the company has gone belly-up. The niche modem distributor carried products from the likes of Sirius and 3Com.
When contacted about the company, 3Com's managing director, Archie Wilson, confirmed the company has ceased trading and said he believes the office is now boarded up. "There's just no one home there at the moment," he said. "Luckily for us they were only one of our small distributors."
Wilson said he had heard unconfirmed reports the owner of RHP Technology has actually left the country.
RHP has been a 3Com distributor for four years. ARN investigations have not yet revealed if RHP has any outstanding debts.
