SCO appoints channel manager

Networking software developer SCO Pacific has appointed Stephen Watson as Pacific Region channels manager as part of the company's push to concentrate sales within the channel.

Watson will be responsible for consolidating distributor and reseller relationships and maintaining existing partnerships, as well as instigating new alliances.

Watson's previous role was as IBM's midrange channel manager and he spent seven years with Wang as a support engineer. He recently instigated SCO's quarterly business briefing on its Tarantella software and UNIX server operating systems to resellers in cities around Australia and New Zealand.

SCO has been building its channel team locally in past months, recently appointing Kieran O'Shaughnessy as regional general manager.

"Stephen joins the SCO team at a time of aggressive growth throughout the region, bringing with him sound experience and knowledge of the channel," O'Shaughnessy said.
