NetStar has announced its merger with Comtech Engineering and Consultant Company, former subsidiary of Hong Kong-listed Vanda Systems & Communications Holdings.
The merger sees systems integrator Comtech become part of the NetStar Group, the e-commerce solutions provider said.
Comtech provides solutions for banking and enterprise networks, intelligent buildings and broadband infrastructure in China and Hong Kong.
K.H Wun, NetStar's president, said it had "aggressive corporate development plans in the pipeline".
"The merger with Comtech signifies a major step of our strategic intent to become the number one IP/Internet network enabled solutions provider in the Asia-Pacific," Wun said.
This announcement is NetStar's second merger and acquisition deal so far this year. In March NetStar signed a merger with China-based systems integrator Intelligent Building Information Systems (IBIS). These two agreements boost NetStar's staff count to 550. NetStar said this made it one of the strongest IP/Internet network solutions providers in the Asia-Pacific, with targeted revenues of over $US150M in 2000.
