In a reported bid to strengthen its consultancy, project management, integration and implementation offerings in the networked enterprise security area Megatec has forged three new partnership deals.
The partnerships will see the security integrator offering products from Check Point Software Technologies, Gemplus SA and Content Technologies.
According to Megatec product manager Steven Crutchfield the decision to take on the new partners was client driven.
"Our clients have been asking about these products, they are interested in the technology, and they would like us to include them in our offering. Ultimately it was a market-based decision, we try to focus on best of breed products and all three are market leaders in their various fields.
"These companies also offer well established channel related training and support programs. Security is a delicate issue things like down time can become a major problem, so we have to know we can depend on our partners."The Gemplus offerings will see Megatec involved in the as yet embryonic smart card market. While Content Technologies offers e-mail scanning services enabling HR departments to keep an eye on staff correspondence.
Although Checkpoint's offerings rival Megatec's current partner Watch Guard, Crutchfield emphasised that there was not any major conflict as products would be integrated according to specific customer requirements.
