Storage vendor Quantum has dropped Tech Pacific from its hard disk drive distribution ranks in Australia and signed Digiland in its place.
In what a spokesperson for Quantum described as an "amicable parting", Tech Pacific will continue to represent Quantum in New Zealand and the Philippines.
Kevyn Ho, Quantum's director of sales for the South Asia/Pacific region, said in a statement that the distribution deal with Digiland was part of a push by Quantum to expand its market reach in Australia.
Digiland was chosen for its reputation in the SCSI market, Ho added. "Digiland, together with our existing partner, Ingram Micro, will help Quantum forge ahead with sales of both its low-end and high-end disk drives in Australia."With a network of more than 1000 resellers across Australia, Digiland distributes a wide range of products from companies such as Hewlett-Packard, Epson, NEC and IBM.
