Chariot races to national presence

Listed ISP Chariot Internet has continued its push to become the largest vendor of rural Internet services with the acquisition of Mackay Net in North Queensland lifting its number of subscribers to over 50,000.

The Mackay Net purchase increases Chariot's number of points of presence (POP) to 32, with another 10 scheduled to be rolled out in northern NSW under a contract with the regional Telecommunications Infrastructure Fund.

By including a North Queensland POP, Chariot now has a truly national footprint.

Meanwhile, Chariot is also setting up a 24 x 7 call centre in Perth to handle the expansion of national services and to cater to proposed Asian growth.
