Logical Connections has signed an agreement with NetSupport to distribute its range of asset management and remote control software in Australia.
The NetSupport product range is aimed at the SME and educational sectors. The flagship NetSupport DNA product is an asset management solution that integrates with NetSupport DNA HelpDesk, NetSupport School and NetSupport Management.
"With the release of DNA 2 we now have a complete IT asset management system that can automatically audit the hardware and software of a network as well as report on and control application and internet use," Logical Connections managing director, Craig Russell, said.
NetSupport School allowed teachers to control classroom screens including sending and receiving student work, Russell said. Schools could lower NetSupports total cost of ownership by banding together to share the product - a practice occurring in the UK.
He said the distributor was now looking for resellers with an education focus. Partners were wanted across different education market segments of TAFEs, schools and universities.
IT channel specialist, StratigiSolve, has been signed to assist Logical with the reseller recruitment.
The niche player educational market is very different from the competitive SME remote control software market where the big players include SMS and PCAnywhere.
However this did not phase Russell, who said NetSupport came out well in competitor reviews.
He said VARs which wanted to cut costs and move towards low-cost remote customer support would benefit from NetSupport DNA.
"The other benefit is that service level agreements can be increased from one or two hours down to instantaneous remote support," Russell said.
Logical Connections has several Sydney schools using the product but is looking for niche distributors to raise the profile of NetSupport in all states.
