ChannelWorx has signed an exclusive deal with Decru to distribute its entire range of storage encryption appliances.
The Australian distributor's managing director, Scott Lidgett, said he expected the deal to be worth over the one million dollar threshold next year, but declined to give further details. The products will be aimed at the enterprise and government markets.
ChannelWorx has been distributing IP Network and Communications technology in Australia for 14 years with Juniper NetScreen as its major product, making up two thirds of its revenue.
The Decru storage security appliance range incorporates encryption, access controls, authentication, and secure logging. The products fit into existing SAN, NAS, DAS or tape storage infrastructure and can be deployed transparently.
Lidgett said ChannelWorx plans to further extend its business into the storage security market.
"This is a growing market area and one where we can add significant value, so we are always on the look out for new technologies in this space," he said.
Training has been scheduled for the next couple of weeks in Canberra for early reseller partners. New staff are also currently being hired.
"Canberra is our biggest market area, but we will extend training programs to Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane," Lidgett said.
However, ChannelWorx marketing manager, Jason Laurent, said it would only be looking for a small handful of committed partners nationally.
"This is still quite a niche sophisticated product aimed at the higher end of the market, so we want only top quality partners," he said.
