Australian mobile phone retailer, Fone Zone, has won the NSW award for Employer of the Year for Training at the Australian Retail Association's (ARA) Retail Awards for Excellence.
Fone Zone, which employs 218 people in New South Wales and 600 across Australia, won the accolade for its staff training programs.
Fone Zone chief operating officer, Maxine Horne said the award affirmed the company's belief in high quality staff training.
"A company may have the smartest customer service initiatives in the world but if their staff aren't trained in them or don't believe in them, then they won't deliver them with heartfelt conviction," she said.
The Retail Association award is the latest in a string of titles the retailer has won.
Earlier this year, Fone Zone took out the Best Retailer of the Year and Outstanding Customer Service prizes at the National Retail Association Awards.
It also won the 2004 Telstra BigPond Broadband Dealer of the Year.
