Netgear is commencing new one-day virtual private network (VPN) and wireless courses in November for resellers across all east coast state capitals.
The courses were initially trialled earlier in the year and the reseller response was so strong that it decided to run a full training schedule, Netgear national ISP account manager, Ryan Parker, said.
"In terms of our strategy we think this training is more important than reseller sales training because the key to keeping resellers happy is making sure they understand the technology," he said. "By giving them training in the best practices of deploying these technologies it helps everyone."
The first course will be held in Sydney on November 4, covering wireless theory and the practical construction of wireless networks in home and business environments. The VPN course includes scenarios of linking two offices up and covers Netgear as well as third party VPNs.
"These are basic introduction through to deployment courses. Perquisite knowledge for the courses is a basic technician level understanding of wireless and VPN," Parker said.
He said the class size would be limited to 20-24 students with a second instructor added for class sizes with more than 16 students.
Resellers attending the wireless course will receive a Netgear wireless adaptor. Those on the VPN course will receive a Netgear router and VPN software as part of the course fees ($490 for the wireless course and $390 for the VPN workshop) with discounts for multiple reseller attendees.
