GST still driving POS software

The GST compliance deadline may have passed, but the number of point-of-sale (POS) software products continues to grow.

The latest offering to retailers is designed to streamline retail efficiency, according to its developers.

Technology One has just launched Retail One, which the company claims is the only fully integrated e-business-enabled merchandising software solution on the market.

"Retail One's full integration means that the retailer now has a sophisticated one-stop solution for managing its entire business," said Technology One managing director Adrian Di Marco.

"Some retailers work on the basis of having a central distribution centre but a lot of retailers will have deliveries going directly to stores. Retail One covers a wide variety of retail models."The software, which was developed for medium-to-large enterprises, allows the retailer to take full control of business through the integration of POS, stock replenishment, purchasing, pricing, retail management, retail administration, sales analysis and financial management.

Retail One, version 1, has been in development for two years.

Di Marco said the software is highly scalable and designed to adapt to each individual business.

Implementation, training and support is done inhouse by the Technology One training team.

Retail One is based on open industry standards and can run on all major database platforms including SQL Server, Oracle, Informix as well as all major operating systems platforms including Windows NT and Unix.www.techone.com.au
