Ingram Micro will distribute Kodak's digital products under a new agreement aimed at boosting Kodak's product image in the local market.
Kodak's Applied Imaging Division will supply its range of digital cameras and video recorders as well as the PalmPix camera for use with Palm organisers for immediate distribution throughout Australia.
Ingram Micro will also distribute Kodak's CD recordable products, including the Ultima CD-R and Kodak CD-R and CD-RW writers, as well as photo papers, stickers, greeting cards and transparency films.
The deal will boost Kodak's product image in the local market, according to the company's Digital and Applied Imaging manager for Australia and New Zealand, Julian Pinfold.
"There are clear benefits in strengthening this relationship by building an alliance here in Australia," he said of the deal. "Ingram Micro offers worldwide logistical strengths as well as local expertise."With warehouses in three states throughout Australia, the distributor will be able to increase the presence and penetration of Kodak digital products in the local IT marketplace, he said.
The products will be available immediately.
