LAN Systems' outspoken strategist Nick Verykios has assumed a new title as general manager and stepped up to the plate as a member of its board.
The move follows the company's $30 million acquisition by Datatec-owned distribution house Westcon Group in April and former CEO Scott Frew's exit from the company.
Verykios adds the GM to his chief marketing officer moniker and is joined on the board of the company by former financial controller, now director and joint company secretary Andrew Blunden, effective July 1.
Also on the board of directors are US executives from Westcon Group, Alan Mark Smith, Philip Rafiani and Jeanne Horan.
Verykios said the promotion formalises the changing nature of his role since the acquisition. "Scott [Frew] has nothing to do with the company now," he said.
Verykios now works with national sales manager Terry Kelso and COO of logistics and distribution John Walters. In addition, LAN Systems is still in negotiations over its planned name change after the acquisition. Options under consideration are believed to include Comstor Australia and Comstor Systems.
