Former Telstra business and government manager, John Mustac, has been appointed to head up Dimension Data's Queensland operations.
Mustac replaces Peter Jefferis, who will take a break from the industry after 25 years. Jefferis had spent the past six years at DiData after its acquisition of Queensland-based Nets and Webs.
His first point of focus will be to strengthen the integrator's client relationships and state presence. The branch currently accounts for about 10 per cent of national business and has 70 staff. He expected to chalk up double digit growth over the next 12 months.
One particular opportunity for growth in Queensland would be selective sourcing. Mustac pointed to the integrator's managed network services contract with SA government as an example.
"We are seeing clients move away from the outsourcing model for IT infrastructure and services in favour of a multi-source approach," he said. "Locally, we are discussing this approach with a number of clients and expect to see those types of relationship grow."
Prior to joining DiData, Mustac was strategic alliances manager across Telstra's business and government division. He also held various positions across mobile sales, SME and Telstra Country Wide.
