Catching up with its international operations, Cisco Systems Australia has announced the implementation of the networking vendor's Go To Market (GTM) strategy.
Launched on August 1, coinciding with the company's financial year, Cisco's GTM strategy will have "important implications" for the channel - at least that was the message posted on distributor LAN System's Web site last Tuesday.
Liz Lawson, regional manager for Channels at Cisco, told ARN the program will affect Cisco's upper level accredited resellers. According to Lawson the strategy is designed to encourage resellers - through offering margin incentives - in Cisco's Gold, Silver and Premium tiers to "become specialist partners in certain areas".
Lawson claims opportunities exist for resellers to skill up on specific networking technologies, thus differentiating themselves from other networking companies.
Looking for a good response to the program Lawson said the announcement comes 12 months after the program was launched by Cisco around the world.
