EMC Unveils $3 million Solutions Centre in Australia
- New Centre Meets the Storage Demands of High End to Mid Tier Customers in Australia -

SYDNEY, 28 August 2003 -Taking its level of customer service to new heights, EMC today announced the opening of an AUD$3 million Solutions Centre in North Sydney, NSW. The Solutions Centre joins EMC’s network of Solutions Centres located in Tokyo, Japan, Seoul, Korea and Beijing, China. The Solutions Centre will be used to demonstrate EMC’s enhanced hardware, software and services capabilities to prospective and existing customers, as well as partners.

The EMC Solutions Centre showcases best practices for storage-based business requirements, bringing together superior technologies, services and experience from EMC and a variety of its partners, including Dell, Microsoft, Cisco, and Oracle. This is another resource to help EMC more efficiently match appropriate storage solutions with their business needs and challenges, reducing customer risk by enabling them to test storage solutions before purchase.

Steve Redman, Managing Director of EMC Australia and New Zealand said many of EMC’s customers are now realising that reactively adding storage capacity can be detrimental to an organisation in the long-term.

“The Solutions Centre will demonstrate to customers how to intelligently manage their information through its entire lifecycle, from creation, protection, access, migration, archive and disposal.”

“Businesses need to recognise the benefits of information lifecycle management and they need to act now to plan for efficient and flexible storage solutions,” Mr Redman said.

According to IDC forecasting, storage solutions in Australia and New Zealand are to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 6.9 per cent to reach a total value of AUD$2,304 million by 2007.

"Increasingly, users across Australia and New Zealand are seeking solutions that integrate storage equipment from many vendors into a networked storage environment. The EMC Solution Centre will enable EMC to work with its customers to ensure that the solution will meet each customer's particular requirement,” said Graham Penn, Director Storage Research Asia Pacific for IDC.

The EMC Solutions Centre reaffirms EMC’s commitment to Australia, adding to its Software Development and Global Customer Support Centre in North Ryde, NSW and the global CLARiiON Centre in Scoresby, Victoria. The EMC Solutions Centre contains EMC’s CLARiiON CX family, Symmetrix DMX series and Celerra solutions, as well as other vendor technologies. The Solutions Centre is continued proof of EMC’s commitment to interoperability of all leading server, storage, network and database management products and technologies.
