Wyse launches slimline tablets

Thin client specialist, Wyse Technology, has entered the tablet market with the unveiling of its Winterm 3820TX. Based on a Windows CE operating system it offers the user mobile access to server-based applications, supports a wide range of LAN and wireless radio cards and has a built-in internet browser. The 3820TX weighs in at 1.6kg, features a 30cm viewable display screen, GalliGrapher handwriting recognition, a virtual keyboard, 32MB of internal memory and provides up to four hours of use with its lithium-ion battery. Ports provide access to an external keyboard or VGA monitor. Optional extras include an extended battery that increases life to eight hours and a tough case. As with all Winterm models, the 3820TX is bundled with a Wyse Rapport client management tool. It is distributed exclusively through Alstom IT.
