Server application software developer Citrix Systems has appointed a new man to head its marketing department in an attempt to bolster its Asia-Pacific branding operations and further its push into the local enterprise space locally.
Garry O'Brien, formerly national sales manager, Australia/New Zealand, for IBM's Personal Computing Group, is taking up the position of marketing director for Citrix Systems, and is looking to "skill up the channel". In doing so, he hopes to enable Citrix to penetrate the enterprise market.
One of the first items on O'Brien's agenda is boosting the number of Citrix's top-tier platinum resellers, by targeting certain gold resellers to take the next step up.
O'Brien is also armed with an arsenal of new certifications to meet the channel's demand for increased training on the Citrix product range, including the Citrix Certified Enterprise Accreditation. He hopes to leverage certified Citrix learning centres to increase the skill-set of the channel "across the board".
To expand Citrix's presence in Asia, O'Brien hopes to put more Citrix legs on the ground in places like Hong Kong, Beijing and Korea.
