Listed IT company, Solution 6 has taken strides to complete the recovery from its public relations disasters of earlier this year by appointing the high profile and broadly experienced Neil Gamble as its new CEO.
Gamble's resume includes recent tenures as CEO at both pay TV broadcaster Australis Media and Sydney's Star City Casino. He fills the role which was left vacant when Chris Tyler resigned in May this year and which Lindsay Yelland has covered in the interim.
A press statement from Solution 6 said the South African-educated Gamble is no virgin to the IT industry. He worked with Digital Equipment Corporation for a couple of years in the early 1980s and then spent six years with Wang Laboratories from 1982.
At the time of appointment to the CEO's role at Solution 6, Gamble was an active director of Solution 6 as well as other ventures including Concept Systems International, B4BCO Ltd, Soulmates Technology, Stargames and Mobile Innovations.
"I am excited at the opportunity of being the Chief Executive Officer of what is an extremely promising global Australian company," Gamble said. "Solution 6 is in a unique position with its leadership in the professional services arena, and I see tremendous opportunity to leverage and strengthen these relationships.
"The company's strengths are abundant, and the potential is enormous," Gamble added.
Brendan Redden, Solution 6's chairman said the appointment of Gamble: "Solution 6 has tremendous potential to be harnessed and deployed, particularly now the integration of acquisitions made over the last 18 months is almost complete.
Redden added Gamble had excelled under Solution 6's selection criteria which looked at "vision" and "leadership capability" and "operational focus".
"[Gamble] has been responsible for management of large teams including 6000 employees at Wormald and 4000 employees at Star City Holdings," Redden said.
