Intercad 3D Graphics has become the sole distributor of 3Dlabs graphics cards in Australia and New Zealand.
The vendor has terminated its relationship with Innovision Technology to focus on the niche markets of engineering and manufacturing graphics solutions, rather than the mass-merchant sector.
The newly formed Intercad 3D Graphics will distribute 3Dlabs' series of Oxygen and WildCat professional graphics cards.
Around half of the vendor's business is sourced through the channel. 3Dlabs also sells cards to OEM customers such as Compaq, Gateway, HP, Hitachi and NEC.
3Dlabs Asia Pacific business manager Bob Sharp said the company had explored the consumer arena briefly, but had decided to move back into the high-end graphics business.
"I am confident that Intercad will provide our customers with superior technical support and together we can meet the expectations of the growing market for professional graphics in Australia," he said.
Intercad 3D Graphics will distribute the newly announced Oxygen VX1-1600SW, Stereo, GVX-420 and GVX1 Pro cards.
