Lawson Software on Track to Expand Sales Force in ANZ

ANZ growth part of Lawson’s post-merger plans to double Asia-Pacific staff by end of 2007

Australia/NZ - Sept. 20, 2006 – Lawson Software has announced plans to double its employee base across the Asia-Pacific region as it ramps up hiring to support the company’s aggressive global and regional growth strategy. As part of the recruitment initiative, Lawson is also boosting its sales force in Australia and New Zealand.

The Asia Pacific expansion also includes plans to significantly increase Lawson's sales force in other specific areas, including Singapore and Hong Kong. The company has also established a major solutions and services centre in Manila, Philippines, where it aims to nearly triple its current number of employees by the end of 2007.

The recruitment drive follows the merger of Lawson Software with the former Intentia International AB earlier this year, which expanded Lawson’s global reach. “Our overarching goal is to greatly increase our employee base and our presence within Asia-Pacific by the end of December 2007,” said Harry Debes, Lawson president and chief executive officer. “Though the bulk of the hire in Asia-Pacific will relate to the support centre in Manila, there is also a big emphasis on growing our direct sales force in other key geographies across the region.”

Lawson has already made several new appointments in Australasia, including Kamal Sharma as ANZ sales director, and sales account managers Mark Johnson for NZ, David Grant for QLD and Mark Fischer for NSW. The company is now looking to fill further sales positions for its Sydney (NSW), Melbourne (VIC) and Auckland (NZ) offices.

Additional sales executives are being brought onboard in ANZ to meet an increasing number of new business opportunities and installed-based customer demands, which are already emerging as a result of the enhanced product offerings generated by the combination of Lawson and Intentia. The new sales staff will be dedicated to either the M3 product line (the former Intentia solutions for the manufacturing, distribution and maintenance sectors); or the S3 product line (the former Lawson solutions aimed primarily at the services, sourcing and staffing industries).

“Our S3 line is a particularly important focus for us in Australia and New Zealand, since this is a new market for the traditional Lawson products,” said Debes. “We are already securing projects with existing customers for our Lawson Business Intelligence (LBI) solution and we want to expand cross-selling opportunities for this and our Human Capital Management solution. It’s an exciting period in the company’s development, and there has never been a better time to be an employee or customer of Lawson.”
