Sexy storage kills the network monster

Office furniture and document storage company TAB Datafile has announced the availability of its moduLAN technical furniture system.

The company boasts a client list that includes everyone from Taronga Zoo to the Department of Treasury, and has just finished fitting out Clemenger Sydney, a large advertising company with over 500 employees around the country.

The moduLAN system houses servers, towers, cabling, monitors and peripherals of the company's LAN into an organised cabinet-style arrangement.

"When clients come in to see our creative and account support people, we don't want them to have to walk past something that looks like the innards of an electronic monster," said Michael Williamson, network technical support manager for Clemenger.

While TAB Datafile's physical storage offerings are based around looking orderly and professional, whilst style and aesthetics is important, the company also claims the housing units offer practicality and user benefits too.

The systems can be scaled or reconfigured to fit irregular spaces and house more hardware when a company grows its network, while saving space with everything in a designated casing. The company claims the technical furniture also provides lockable panels and easy access to all components enclosed by the system. The moduLAN is available Australiawide.
