Compaq Australia has appointed Andrew Licence as director of professional services, South Pacific, as part of its plan to ease existing customers into the Internet economy.
Licence and his team will work with customers to develop and implement strategies that support the transition to, and ongoing management of, business in the new economy. Specific emphasis is being placed on meeting key business objectives as bricks-and-mortar businesses move online.
"Today we are seeing businesses of all sizes and styles having to move very quickly into the Internet economy," said Licence. "What today we term as e-business, tomorrow will simply be business. With this in mind, Compaq is delivering a range of services to its customers to ease the pressures associated with the transition and to enable them to remain competitive in the new economy."
Licence will be based in Compaq's Sydney office and will report to whoever takes the reigns from Ian Penman, vice president and managing director of Compaq Computer Australia/New Zealand.
