Visual collaboration vendor PictureTel has announced a channel competition for its recently released 900 Series multimedia conferencing device.
The competition, which has four categories, will see resellers awarded travel vouchers to be given away in December this year.
The "deal of the year" category, awarded for the single biggest order of PictureTel's 900 Series, will be granted $7000 worth of travel vouchers.
Also awarded $7,000 worth of vouchers is the "Salesperson of the year", for the person who sells the most number of units. Another $1,000 worth of vouchers will be passed on to PictureTel's "capital renter of the year", for the company that provides the most financing.
PictureTel's "reseller of the year" will receive a handsome trophy.
Trevor Buchanan, sales and marketing manager for PictureTel Australia, claims the award scheme is aimed to both entice resellers to avidly sell the product, while rewarding those resellers who have been loyal to PictureTel.
The vouchers are flexible and can be used for just about any holiday expense including airfares, package holidays and accommodation, said Buchanan.
The PictureTel 900 Series ranges from $17,243 to $45,920 depending on the configuration, he said, and is designed to be a complete videoconferencing solution.
Two years in development, the 900 Series contains an Intel 500Mzh PIII chip with up to five PictureTel hardware cards built into the one box.
PictureTel also offers rebates ranging from $3768 to $13,035 for customers looking to migrate from earlier products like the Concord, Venue and TeamStation products to the 900 series, Buchanan said, and is offered as an "investment protection" for customers.
