Novell has reported a $US12.4 million loss for its third quarter, which ended July 31, and said that it's reducing its workforce by 10 per cent.
The job cuts will affect about 600 employees, leaving the software vendor with a total of 5700 workers.
Most of the cutbacks were already completed during the third quarter, Novell said.
The company noted that software license sales fell 17 per cent year over year.
