Fresh from scoring a lucrative contract with debutante domestic airline carrier Virgin Blue, Bridge Point Communications has announced the addition of a new security vendor to its product books.
The Brisbane-based networking integrator and security company Bridge Point has inked an alliance with US-based security vendor Network Flight Recorder (NFR) to become its first Australian "Solutions Partner".
Bridge Point will resell the full range of NFR's intrusion detection, network traffic and network analysis tools, the company said in a statement recently.
Robyn Bailey, information security practice manager for Bridge Point, believes the NFR products stack up favourably in comparison to other security products on the market, with the integrator already receiving strong interest from potential customers.
"One of the main advantages of NFR over other intrusion detection products is its N-Code feature which enables users to customise protection for their networks," claims Bailey.
"We've had a number of companies, some of which are fairly sensitive, approach us after being in contact with NFR in the US," said Bailey. "NFR are very keen on the partnership and you'll see some joint marketing initiatives towards the end of the year."
"Our distribution strategy is to achieve aggressive international growth through local channels," claims NFR CEO Jack Reis, commenting on the appointment. "[Bridge Point] more than satisfy the criteria we have defined for reseller qualification."
As part of the partnership, Bridge Point also sent across its security specialist Paul Grehan to gain NFR certification, making him the first NFR accredited technician in the country.
In related news, the integrator has also signed a major outsourcing agreement with Richard Branson's Virgin Blue Airlines after it successfully bid for the integration of its call centre.
After the call centre was rolled out in March, Bridge Point furthered its alliance with Virgin Blue by becoming the airlines' 24-hour IT help desk support, network monitoring and planning services company.
