Lucent Technologies and session border controller vendor Kagoor Networks this week signed a global reseller agreement that enables Lucent to market Kagoor's Voice Flow 3000 product to VoIP carrier customers.
Under a non-exclusive agreement, Kagoor's Voice Flow 3000 will be part of Lucent's converged IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) products which are designed to deliver multimedia voice, video and data services to enterprises and consumers. Such services include IP PBX, IP Centrex, Voice over Broadband and Voice virtual private networks.
Session border controllers reside at service providers' network borders and resolve VoIP issues such as security, VoIP protocol interoperability and interworking and service assurance.
Lucent is integrating Kagoor's VoiceFlow products into Hot Telecom's VoIP network under a contract announced last July with the cable telephony provider.
Lucent already has completed interoperability tests involving Lucent products and the Kagoor VF3000. The combined products support VoIP applications such as communication across a network-hosted network address translation device, VPN aggregation, network protection, carrier traffic exchange -- or peering -- and enterprise border control.
