Xerox gets colour in printing

Looking to consolidate its push into the office, Fuji Xerox has launched two new colour printers - the Xerox Phaser 790 and the 1235.

Part of an initiative to provide a comprehensive product range, the printers combine the resources of Xerox and recently acquired Tektronix Colour Printing and Imaging. The Phaser 1235 is the first printer produced from the new business unit since the purchase. It prints at 12 pages per minute (ppm) in colour and 20 in black and white, with a print resolution of 1200dpi. The printer features a 366MHz processor and optional 5GB hard drive. Prices start from $9597.

The Phaser 790 is aimed at the high-end graphics sector and is the third colour printer to come from the Xerox Office Printing division. It prints at 6ppm in colour and 26ppm in black and white and features PDF direct printing and document set printing. The A3 printer is network ready and includes a 6MB hard drive and 266MHz processor as well as memory of up to 512MB. Two models are available and prices start from $16,499.
