Network Solutions Briefs: Novell, WAN, Nortel

Novell ‘Akamaizes' Web speed with partnershipNovell and Akamai Technologies have announced they will collaborate to increase the speed of delivery of Internet content to their joint customers.

Novell will integrate Akamaizer functionality into its Internet Caching System (ICS) and Content Exchange package, as well as offer Akamai's FreeFlow and FreeFlow streaming services.

Akamai delivers rich, dynamic content over a network of 4200 servers with its FreeFlow service. Novell ICS communicates with the Akamai network via the Open Cache Interface (OCI) protocol, allowing ICS to store content carried on the Akamai network. As a result, Novell ICS can deliver content faster, and more efficiently route that content to end users.
