SCO OSs from Tardis

Operating systems distributor Tardis is set to offer a consistent operating system (OS) interface from small Intel servers right up to high-end Unix boxes after inking a distribution agreement with networking vendor SCO Pacific.

The agreement will see Tardis distribute SCO's Unixware, NonStop Clusters, Tarantella as well as the joint SCO/IBM-developed 64-bit operating system - AIX 5L - to its small-to-medium enterprise (SME) customers.

As well as boasting a partnership with Oracle, Tardis currently distributes IBM's Netfinity, RS6000 and AS/400 servers. And according to John Anderson, managing director of Tardis, the addition of SCO operating systems will provide the distributor with the arsenal to become a "one stop shop" for its software developer customers.

"SCO is a proven and dependable leader in the UNIX-on-Intel market and its strong relationship with IBM and Oracle was a key factor in our decision to distribute SCO," he said.

In addition to the agreement, Tardis has selected Sydney-based Blue Sky Industries to provide education and support services to its SCO customer base.
