Coles Myer has appointed Warren Flick as its new chief operating officer for its Apparel and Home and for Myer Grace Bros.
Reporting to CEO Dennis Eck, 56-year-old Flick is a director of US e-commerce developer I-Storm as well as the e-Save Network -- a developing Internet marketing platform for international consumer brands.
Flick has been working as a consultant for Coles Myer in a review of the company's non-food businesses, and handed down his report in September.
"Warren has an impressive CV," Eck said in a statement. "He is the former president and chief operating officer of USA Kmart stores and a member of Kmart's board of directors."
Flick has also held executive positions at Sears in the US and Mexico and is the director of footwear company Stride Rite. Flick leaves his role at the investment and consultancy firm he founded last year, Warren Flick Associates to take up the role of COO at Coles Myer.
