The new Sony Ericsson P800 multimedia phone combines a personal digital assistant, mobile phone and digital camera in a single device. The vendor’s first phone to support video playback and streaming, it also allows the user to take pictures, listen to music, browse the Internet, play games, access work files or make phone calls. A flight mode enables users to retain functionality in mid-air. The vendor claims a pen-based user interface makes feature navigation easy while its organiser can be synchronised with Microsoft Office or Lotus Notes on a PC. Other features include a 40x60mm touchscreen, handwriting recognition, mobile Internet, 12MB internal memory and 16MB Sony Memory Stick Duo and 16 pre-programmed polyphonic ring signals. Weighing 158g, it measures 17x59x27mm. The p800 is distributed by Brightpoint and Cellnet. RRP: $1680
