Internet games retailer Games Market has selected online payment company Technocash to integrate a prepaid e-commerce payment solution for its operations in the lead up to Christmas.
The Technocash payment system will allow the company's customers to pre-purchase Technocash anonymously, providing an alternative method of online payment to those who do not use credit cards. It is aimed at Games Market's youth customer base and those who are unwilling to use credit cards online.
The company selected the system based on its simplicity and cost effectiveness, Games Market director Andreas Thamrin said.
"Because shoppers pre-purchase Technocash, they are ready to spend and we are guaranteed payment," he said.
Although the games market has traditionally attracted a younger audience and the e-tailer stocks games for all ages, Thamrin has found older customers make up the majority of sales.
Customers can purchase Technocash, which can be transferred between parties just like regular currency, through post offices around Australia. Unlike cash however, users can create a password for the payment to keep it secure.
