HP claims its new Photosmart c850 is the first digital camera to combine professional features with an affordable price tag for consumers. Gadgetry on the 4.1 mega-pixel machine includes manual controls for a range of features including focus, shutter speed, resolution and white balance, an 8x optical and 7x digital zoom and the ability to capture one-minute video clips or add voice clips to each photo. A large zoom lens allows users to take action shots without a blurred finish or unwanted background. Instant share software is included to allow users to send and receive digital pictures through a central HP server. Photo and imaging software is also part of the package. Users can save, print, share-to-Web and email photos or detect and unload new images. The c850 is HP’s highest performance model in a Photosmart range that also includes the c320, c620, c720 and c812 digital cameras as well as the 130, 7150 and 7550 photo-quality printers.
It is distributed by Digiland, eXeed, Ingram Micro, Synnex and Tech Pac. RRP: $1399.
