Enterprise software and e-business integrator, eGlobal was last week appointed Australian distributor for high end Java development tools vendor Webgrain. The announcement comes at the same time as its acquisition by ASX-listed Coms21 is being completed.
Claiming in a statement to have recently sold the product to "a large insurance group" as well as other corporate and government clients, eGlobal International said it has "approximately $250,000 of orders" already received for the product.
Chris Evans has been appointed general manager - distribution, support and reseller network with a view to developing the product's channel and customer base. Webgrain is already used by Cisco, HP, Ariba, Sun, Chase, lucent, EDS, Sprint, Boeing Nortel Networks, Tradex and GE, according to eGlobal.
The acquisition by Coms21 of eGlobal is in its final stages, a statement revealed. "Shareholder approval of acquisitions, a name change to eGlobal International, share issues, capital raising and share consolidation are all expected to be completed by year end," the statement said.
