Netgear makes price point attack

Netgear has launched its FVM318 Cable/DSL ProSafe Wireless VPN Security Firewall in Australia. The vendor claims it will enable businesses to protect office networks at a lower price-per-point than competitor products. Features include an eight-port 10/100 Mbps switch, an encryption co-processor for VPN tunnel throughput, the ability to support 102 VPN tunnels simultaneously (32 WLAN and 70 WAN), a built-in 802.11b wireless access point, 168-bit 3DES IPSec and 256-bit AES encryption ability, NAT routing for shared access to a broadband connection for up to 253 users, URL access and content filtering, logging, reporting and real time alerts. The FVM318 is distributed by Express Data, Tech Pacific, Tecksel, Tec Vic, BMS and J Mills. RRP: $2179
