UCMS has appointed Damovo and Getronics to assist its own UCMS Solutions division in upgrading its Victorian contact centres.
The multi-million dollar contract is in line with the service vendor's desire to expand into the business process management and outsourcing space.
Damovo will supply its Rockwell FirstPoint infrastructure in a phased migration to add more switching capacity.
Getronics will provide a flexible desktop infrastructure using the Citrix technologies and low-cost desktop PCs. UCMS director of commercial development, Denice Pitt, said the choice to go with a consortium hinged on a complex set of technological requirements.
"We made a decision to approach the leading vendors and integrators and asked them to present solutions that could meet our requirements," she said. "We quickly concluded that the expertise we required was best accessed through a consortium of complimentary companies."
The rollout of the upgrade will take about three months and, according to Pitt, will lay solid foundations for UCMS as it expands its capacity.
