The winners of the Australian Internet Awards for 2000 have been announced, covering a wide variety of Internet usage and formats.

Best e-commerce site was awarded to, with judges from various business and academic institutions highlighting the site's easy-to-use features for choosing goods and getting them delivered on time.

The ANZ Bank took out the best financial site, while design site Akira online won the best small business site. Other winners included the Real Estate Institute of Western Australia for professional industry associations, for entertainment, Triple J's Dr. Karl Kruszelnicki for science, flying Australia 2000 for special interest, Lexis Legal for corporations, ABC Online for media and the City of Sydney for Government.
