Privately held software developer Bullant has signed a development agreement with Sun Microsystems that will secure its ongoing hardware, service and support.
The partnership is part of the Federal Government's Partnership for Development Program. Bullant is currently working on the port of its 64-bit version of software to Sun's SPARC/Solaris range of servers.
Paul Burrows, managing director of Bullant Australia, believes Sun's decision to enter into a partner for development relationship is "recognition of Bullant's potential as an Australian technology exporter. The agreement is solid evidence that we are recognised by major global technology corporations as a serious player in the future of Internet and wireless development," he said.
"For an Australian software company to achieve that within 12 months is testament to the significance of our technology and the hard work put in by the Bullant team."
Russell Bates, vice president for product sales and operation for Sun Microsystems Asia, commended the breadth of global potential of Bullant's solutions, adding that for such applicable products to come out of Australia is rare.
