Business intelligence software vendor Business Objects (BO) has ramped up its indirect sales force appointing two new channel partners and a new wireless connectivity edition of its InfoView server.
The vendor has called Com Tech Communications into the fold as a certified consulting partner and reseller. Com Tech joins IBM GSA as a top-tier BO strategic partner.
According to Michael Belakhov, Business Objects' Australia and New Zealand country manager, Com Tech has been appointed because of its customer base and reach in the contact centre market.
"One of Com Tech's strengths is its ability to integrate BO with other solutions, such as computer telephony integration and integrated voice response systems," said Belakhov.
Belakhov is hoping to leverage Com Tech's clout in the Australian and New Zealand markets and in return will provide Com Tech with regular product and sales training, technical support and lead generation.
Meanwhile, Western Australia-based reseller Consultech has also been appointed as a Certified Consulting Partner and is in the final throws of becoming a Certified Training Partner. As a Certified Training Partner, Consultech will train developers and end users on product and service delivery.
Consultech used to be a reseller for former BO distributor Executive Computing Group (ECG), before BO acquired ECG and set up in Australia earlier this year. The company has been running training courses for a while now, according to Consultech's sales director Alan Fardoe, who is happy to break even with the course offerings.
The WA reseller makes the bulk of its revenues from the licence sales of BO software, boasting companies such as Bank West, BHP and Fujitsu. Fardoe claims BO's usability, scalability and manageability presents the reseller with an easier sell than competing software.
BO also announced the latest release of its InfoView business intelligence portal designed to offer secure corporate information via any Internet connection. BO's InfoView Wireless Edition, as the name suggests, offers connectivity between wireless devices like PDAs or WAP phones and the business intelligence portal.
