TABLOID AWARDS 2000

TABLOID AWARDS 2000

It's been such a fun year, with all these stock market crashes, mass firings, bickering and fiery letters to the editor and threats of legal proceedings and drunken parties . . . the type of copy that a Tabloid journalist eats for breakfast. Here are this year's Tabloid award winners:

1) The UP IN SMOKE award

Chris "two-bags" Tyler. Whilst we know he didn't inhale and he didn't enjoy it, Tabloid is quite certain Solution 6 shareholders aren't too keen on him. But as Tabloid reporters, we were only too pleased to discover a top tech exec had a history with the weed and Colombian marching powder.

2) The DENY EVERYTHING award

AMD business development manager Stephen "there's nothing wrong with any of them" Fraser, for completely messing up any attempt at a cover-up of the re-marked AMD CPUs, which surfaced midway through the year.

3) The PREMATURE EVACUATION award

Johnson "watch me skip the country" Wang for raising, then razing Australia's shortest-lived IT empire.

4) The I LOVE GERRY HARVEY award

Compaq's Ian Penman for announcing he was quitting - enough said.

5) The EXCELLENCE IN PUBLIC RELATIONS awardThis picture explains everything. We were that concerned about where the price of LibertyOne shares might go after MD Marcelle Anderson sent us this pic that we decided to keep it from being printed. But now the company has appointed an administrator, the shareholders are screwed anyway, so here it is!
