Software Spectrum has made a number of key staff changes in the wake of its acquisition of the Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) reseller business.
The reseller's partner and marketing manager, Kirk Jones, said the company had employed two new SMB representatives in Victoria to focus on opportunities in that region.
A dedicated customer service team has also been established in Sydney to deal with operational and sales queries.
Other staff changes include a new local chief. American John Havelick replaces Andrea Della Mattea on December 6 as managing director of Asia-Pacific following Della Mattea's promotion to senior vice-president of sales for North America and Asia-Pacific.
While CSC reputedly wanted to sell its reseller business for $150 million because of falling revenues, Jones said the US-based services company is taking a bullish view of the market.
"It's a low margin product so you need to sell high volumes to make some decent margins," he said. "All we do is sell high volumes, so the cost of doing business for us is cheaper."
