Software Communication Group (Sofcom) has purchased LibertyOne's prime Web development and consulting asset Zivo for less than $50,000 after an agreement was struck with LibertyOne's administrator.
Sofcom have acquired the Zivo name, trademarks, URLs and Web site, will employ its choice of Zivo staff and take on any current Zivo clients. Sofcom chief executive officer Cary Stynes said the Zivo assets will be integrated into Sofcom, but his company will not be liable for any debts relating to Zivo's previous parent, LibertyOne.
Yesterday and today, Stynes and his team have been interviewing all Zivo staff, with a plan to offer certain positions within Sofcom after Christmas.
"We have to factor in the skill-sets of both our existing staff and the Zivo staff," Stynes said. "We want to hire as many as we can but, at the same time, we must be financially prudent about it."
Stynes said current Zivo clients would have all their contracts fulfilled.
