TUSC has acquired privately owned HP reseller Enterprise Management Solutions (EMS) for an undisclosed sum.
EMS, a small company employing 16 staff, is one of Australia’s largest resellers of HP’s OpenView network management solutions. The acquired company will operate as a separate business unit of TUSC, headed up by existing EMS managing director, Paul Heath. EMS’ Victorian operations will be consolidated into TUSC’s Melbourne headquarters.
The acquisition is part of a new strategy for TUSC - branching out from selling solutions aimed at managing operational systems to solutions that will manage an organisation’s entire IT infrastructure.
TUSC’s traditional business model is the provision of software and services for the management and monitoring of operational systems at such telecommunications and utilities companies as AGL, Telstra and United Energy. This software allows utility-based companies to offer service level management to their customers.
Some recent shifts in technology have provided TUSC with the opportunity to extend these services deeper into the enterprise.
“We want to offer enterprise-wide management, rather than just management of the operational side of the network,” TUSC managing director, Daryll Goodall, said. “Most utilities are now bringing all of their networks – both operations and internal – under the one roof.”
