Bowling, beer, party pies and pool were all on the agenda when Express Data gathered more than 400 business partners, customers, vendors and staff together for an end of financial year party.
Held at Sports Central, part of Sydney’s Fox Studio complex, the event was a chance for business buddies to let their hair down in more relaxed surroundings. Express Data managing director, Ross Cochran, tried to give a speech of thanks but most people were enjoying themselves far too much to listen and it was lost under the chatter.
“We’ve been doing this for about five years now and it’s become a bit of a channel tradition,” Express Data marketing manager, Peter Masters, said.
“There are not so many of these events now but this was one of the best we have had. Vendors love this kind of thing because they get to meet the customers.
“There has been a lot of doom and gloom during the past couple of years but there’s a little more optimism around at the moment. People are talking about deals and opportunities again, which is nice to see.”
Among those hanging around the pool table area was Novell’s manager of partner relationships, Steve Martin.
Pool is second nature to the Novell gang because they have a table at the office, but Martin assured ARN that he wasn’t using his finely honed skills to take money off less polished performers. We believe him.
