Gary Workman, formerly the Asia-Pacific president of networking vendor, Enterasys Networks, has launched an IT security consultancy based in the Philippines.
The company, called NetSourceAsia, promotes itself as a provider of IT security services, solutions and products throughout the Asia-Pacific region, including Australia.
NetSourceAsia lists Enterasys Networks as one of its five “product and technology partners”, but managing director for Enterasys Australia, Gary Mitchell, said he was not familiar with the company.
“Nobody has contacted me [with this regard],” he said. “We are very happy with our distribution relationships and are not looking to make any changes.”
NetSourceAsia not only lists Australia as an area of operation but also lists a former Enterasys managing director as its vice-president for Australia and New Zealand.
Workman told ARN that this was an oversight. He had discussed hiring the prospective employee some time ago, but the plan had never materialised.
Workman and two of his colleagues left Enterasys in March 2002 after the networking vendor discovered accounting irregularities of $US4 million in the books for the Asia-Pacific region.
