As Voice over IP gains momentum, Commander will deliver and support the Business Communication Manager (BCM). The all-in-one telephony and data solution was developed by Nortel Networks and includes more than 150 standard telephony features as well as applications built into the box. This means applications such as unified messaging will not need hardware upgrades — customers just purchase a keycode from their dealer to unlock the functionality. They can also download applications for a free 30-day trial period. The BCM platform will support traditional digital and analogue phones as well as IP telephones and PC-based soft phones. Customers can also choose from ISDN Basic Rate and Primary Rate network interfaces or VoIP using the Wide Area Network (WAN) through an integrated IP gateway. The BCM will support from 10 to 140 users. Standard pricing without any bundles or discounting is $655 per user, based on a configuration of 48 digital handsets, primary rate interface and voice messaging. Significant discounts are available through Commander for specific configuration and application requirements.
