NEC is set to make a big impression on the information display market with the introduction of its 30-inch LCD3000 screen. Aimed at bridging the gap between desktop flat panels and displays for large presentations the new model has a 29.5-inch viewable image size suitable for a range of venues including conference rooms, airport lounges, public information kiosks, financial exchanges and retail exhibitions. Features include a high resolution of 1280 x 768, brightness of 450cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 350:1. NEC claims its Rapid Response technology virtually eliminates ghosting while the lack of phosphors removes any chance of an image burning permanently into the screen when left on display for long periods. NEC also claims the screen has horizontal and vertical viewing angles of 170-degrees — 85-degrees from all sides of the monitor — allowing spectators to view images without having to stand directly in front of the screen, while a weight of 15.9kgs makes it easily transportable from venue to venue. Display settings are operated through remote diagnostics and remote control capabilities using a local area network or signal cable. Available now, the LCD3000 is backed by a one-year limited warranty including backlight.
The recommended retail price is $9999.
