Networking vendor, 3Com, has appointed a business development manager for high-end channel partners.
Richard Charlton, who has accumulated 17 years of experience in the IT industry, nine of those in networking, will be responsible for servicing large systems integrators and outsourcing companies like Telstra, Optus and IBM.
He was previously a sales manager with Extreme Networks.
His appointment, to what is a new role within 3Com A/NZ, follows the vendor’s announcement in June that it was looking to deepen its footprint in the enterprise market.
“We are bringing a whole new range of large-scale products to markets,” 3Com A/NZ managing director, Mike Clarke, said. “This means we will have new partners selling our equipment and need somebody to work with them. "Richard has been in networking for a long time and will deal with internal channel issues like training and certification as well as helping sales teams fully engage in opportunities.”
3Com has also appointed Paul Gilbert as a network consultant for NSW, Queensland, and ACT.
He will offer presales and technical advice as well as reseller and integration training.
Gilbert has been in the IT industry for 12 years, most recently in a similar role with Extreme Networks.
